tribute to ruedi

In December 2012 I was able to visit Wolf Park, in Indiana! One of my biggest wishes came true. Even though it was cold as sh** and cloudy I had the time of my life. It was like a dream, entering the enclosure and finally meeting all the wolves I have already seen on a bunch of pictures from Monty Sloan. I could name them all! (Even though I had a hard time to differentiate Kanti and Bicho) Meeting Monty Sloan was also just a wonderful and unbelievable experience for me. We spent 4 hours in the enclosure, I could touch and cuddle the wolves and took over 3000 pictures.

This here is Ruedi, one of the prettiest. I love his eyes. He is a cutie, but he preferred to stay in the background, while the puppies Fiona, Bicho and Kanti, with Mommy Dharma and Wotan were mostly around us. He still came sometimes to be petted and get his treats. It was kind of hard to get really nice pictures of him! But this is one of them.

Sadly he passed away on December 29th, two weeks after I visited. I am so glad I was able to meet him, but it's still hard to think, that he is not there anymore - he was a important part of Wolf Park for me.
RIP.
